Análisis de la menopausia y aplicación de la terapia hormonal como manejo terapéutico

Introducción: La menopausia no es una enfermedad, sino más bien una etapa natural en la vida de la mujer. Durante este periodo se producen varios cambios fisiológicos que afectan la calidad de vida. Por consiguiente, la Terapia Hormonal de reemplazo se considera el tratamiento de primera línea.
Objetivo: Analizar el periodo menopáusico y la eficacia de la aplicación de la terapia hormonal como manejo terapéutico.
Metodología: Para esta investigación se realizó una revisión de la literatura, selección de artículos científicos y aplicación del método PRISMA.
Resultados: Se obtuvieron 14 publicaciones de acuerdo con los criterios de inclusión, exclusión y palabras clave para su revisión.
Discusión La mayoría de las mujeres presentan síntomas vasomotores que afecta a su calidad de vida, por lo tanto, la terapia hormonal de reemplazo es la manera de compensar la deficiencia estrogénica, gracias a importantes estudios realizados estas últimas décadas desplomó una controversia sobre los beneficios y riesgos potenciales.
Conclusiones: La Terapia Hormonal es segura en las mujeres sanas y en periodo menopáusico temprano corroborando que el tratamiento si disminuye la sintomatología. El tratamiento es totalmente recomendado aplicarlo en las pacientes donde su calidad de vida está siendo afectada significativamente.
