Alternative treatment in chronic neuropathic pain in adult patients

Objective: This work aims to look for evidence about the benefits of alternative treatments for neuropathic pain.
Methodology: An online database (pubmed, cochrane, trip, epistemonikos) search has been carried out, taking into account articles published in the last 5 years. The included studies grouped adults over 18 years with chronic neuropathic pain.
Results: Out of 166 recently recommended articles; 9 of them have been included. A variability in the effectiveness of those treatments was proved, reaching in some cases equal to usual treatment.
Conclusion: The studied therapies have shown to be effective, to a greater or lesser extent. Further study is needed to see the effectiveness of the treatment in the long-term and under certain situations.
